Titans Win 3-0 Over Trojans in Volleyball Clash

The St. Bernard-Elmwood Place Titans hosted a triumphant regular season match against North College Hill Trojans in the Titans Gymnasium yesterday. Dominating the court, the Titans won the match in a straight set of 3-0, enhancing their season record to a solid 6-6 overall and 4-1 in conference play.

In the first set, the Titans quickly established themselves with a decisive 25-11 victory. Their momentum continued into the second set, where they overwhelmed the Trojans, securing another win with a 25-7 score. The third set saw the Trojans put up a stronger resistance, but the Titans capped off the evening with a 25-15 win, securing the overall match victory.

Key performances included Makayla Harris and Tessa Jewell, who each had a block to compliment their strong offensive contributions. Harris led with three kills, while Jewell followed with two of her own. The match showcased a strong defensive effort from the Titans, with Brie Morris recording four digs and five pivotal aces. Tosha Smith led the team in aces, totaling six. Jewell provided valuable setups for the Titans throughout the game, facilitating eight total assists.

Several players contributed to the win, including Hayden Spears, who had one kill, three aces, and a dig. Joselynn Telinda served up two assists alongside her two aces and two digs. Bella Potter had four aces and a kill. Devon Renner had an ace and a dig.

Looking ahead, the Titans are gearing up to face Woodward on September 27. They’ll be looking to add on to their current two-game win streak.
