On October 2, The Cincinnati Enquirer published an article listing the top 10 high school football defenses in Cincinnati after six weeks of play. Each spot was determined by the number of points allowed by each team. The St. Bernard-Elmwood Place Titans were seventh on the list, having allowed just 65 points so far.
The Enquirer highlighted the individual performances of players James Hall and Nathan Schulte. Hall’s 17 sacks lead the Miami Valley Conference as well as the entire city of Cincinnati. Schulte’s numbers are impressive as well this season, as he has caught three interceptions and made 40 tackles.
Currently on a five-game win streak, SBEP has kept opposing teams scoreless twice. No quarterback has thrown for more than 130 yards against the Titans, and they’ve only allowed two teams to score double-digit points all season.
The Titans will look to continue their success this Friday, as they face Gamble Montessori at Woodward High School. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
